Afghan Youth Movement of Canada
The Afghan Youth Movement of Canada (AYMC) is an independent organization that aims to engage Afghan and pro-Afghan rights Canadians in the political process and foster active political participation.
Advocacy and Education
Educating members of the Afghan community and the broader public on the importance of active political participation, helping them understand the political process, and the impact their involvement can have on policy and decision-making. AYMC focuses particularly on raising awareness about human rights abuses in Afghanistan.
Mobilization
Encouraging and facilitating involvement in the political process among community members, particularly during elections. This includes motivating members to volunteer in political campaigns, vote, and support candidates who align with their values and interests, especially those related to human rights and Afghan welfare.
Organizing Protests
Actively organizing protests and demonstrations to raise awareness about human rights abuses in Afghanistan. These events serve to inform the Canadian public and policymakers about the urgent issues facing Afghanistan and pressure international bodies to act
Building Relationships
Strengthening relationships between the Afghan community and elected officials across the political spectrum, as well as with other institutions and universities, to ensure a broad understanding of the community’s interests and perspectives. This will enhance the community’s influence on foreign and domestic policies impacting Afghanistan.
Bipartisanship
Maintaining a non-partisan stance while working across all major political parties to promote and protect the interests of the Afghan community in Canada.
Our Goal
The goal of AYMC is to create a politically empowered Afghan diaspora community in Canada that can effectively influence and contribute to Canadian and international political life in a manner that aligns with its values and priorities concerning Afghanistan.
